We are pleased to announce IP.Downloads 2.1.0 is now available in the client area. The following is a list of what's new in this version of IP.Downloads, our file management application for IP.Board: Friendly URLs Friendly URLs have been implemented into IP.Downloads starting with version 2.1. Ability to shut off "Resume breakpoints" Most download accelerator clients support downloading multiple pieces of a file simultaneously. While this means that the file can download faster for the user, it also means that you can have multiple connections open from one user downloading a single file. Beginning with IP.Downloads 2.1 you can disallow requests for individual file parts to help control the number of open connections to your server. Download sessions Beginning with IP.Downloads 2.1, you can enable functionality that will cause IP.Downloads to create a unique URL for each file download request. The URL will expire once used (or after 24 hours, whichever comes first), helping to prevent users from sharing direct download links to the files. Global settings IP.Downloads 2.1 will allow you to configure maximum file size and screenshot dimension settings globally, while still allowing you to override those settings on a per-category level should you need to. This can help simplify updates to your download manager configuration for these particular settings which are commonly configured the same across all categories. Support for link "types" When submitting screenshot and file links, you will now be able to select what type of link you are submitting. The link types are configurable in the ACP so administrators can add and alter link types to better suit their site. Upload progress meter Through integration with the flash uploader used for uploading attachments to IP.Board posts, the download manager now supports a true progress bar for all uploads (if the user is using the Flash uploader as specified in their user control panel). One record, many files To date, IP.Downloads was designed to allow you to submit one file at a time (and one screenshot, depending on the configuration). IP.Downloads 2.1 takes the next step and allows you to submit multiple files and multiple screenshots per record. Interface updates The interface for the download manager has been tweaked and updated to provide a more polished feel, while distinguishing the user interface from the rest of the board. We are pleased to announce Invision Power Board 3.0.5 has been released. This is a maintenance release for IP.Board 3 and addresses various bugs, security enhancements, and performance improvements. Major Changes Since 3.0.4 Among many dozens of smaller bugs fixed and performance improvements, the following security enhancements were made: [*]SQL and local file include issue fixed. Note: Due to protection within the SQL driver classes, it is very difficult to effectively exploit IP.Board using this attack. Also you need moderator permissions to perform any exploit. We've hardened this code regardless. Also, due to the input cleaning functions IP.Board uses, the local file include is limited to PHP files on the file system as the usual 'null byte' trick is ineffective. Today we are announcing several price changes including volume pricing, renewal term changes, and a renewal price reduction. Renewal Term Changes As all of our clients know, our IP.Board licenses renew every 6 months to continue support, upgrades, and services for the licenses. However, our applications (IP.Blog, IP.Gallery, IP.Downloads, and IP.Content) all renew just once a year. This yearly renewal is a leftover policy from previous license setups that were just yearly renewals. To make everything match, we are changing all application renewal terms to match the 6 month term for IP.Board licenses. It is important to note that we are not raising the actual prices but the frequency of the renewal period so everything is the same. This change will make managing your licenses with IPS much easier for both you and our staff. Example: IP.Blog renewal is currently $20 per year whereas it will now be $10 every 6 months. Die Aufteilung der Foren war teilweise veraltet und schon seit der Gründung von IPBSupport unverändert geblieben, was schlussendlich zu Unübersichtlichkeiten in mehreren Bereichen geführt hat. Wir haben alte IP.Board Versionen in einer Kategorie Zusammengefasst um die bestmögliche Übersicht zu bieten. Damit aber Nutzer, die auch heute natürlich noch Hilfe für eine ältere IP.Board Version benötigen, weiterhin Hilfe erhalten, wurden die Foren nicht Archiviert und/oder auf "Read Only" gestellt, so das jederzeit neue Themen erstellt oder auf bestehende Themen geantwortet werden kann! Ausserdem kann ich heute mit großer Freude einen Zuwachs im IPBSupport Team verkünden: Ab sofort wird Daniel alias Dan unser Team tatkräftig unterstützen. Viele werden Daniel noch unter dem Namen "thedan" oder "deevisio" aus Ikonboard / IBForen Zeiten kennen. Daniel hat schon damals auf IBForen zusammen mit Andy, Stefan und mir ein Team gebildet und war Gründungsmitglied von IBForen. Als "alter Hase" des IP.Boards (früher natürlich unter dem Namen Invision Power Board) kennt er sich also sehr gut mit dem IP.Board, der Geschichte und vor allem seinem Hauptgebiet, dem Skin- und Grafikdesign, aus. Wir sind uns sicher, das wir in Zukunft wieder einige tolle und nie vergessene Skindesigns von Daniel sehen werden, mit denen er unsere Kunden glücklich machen wird! OpenID Security Update for IP.Board 3.0.2 We are investigating issues related to OpenID not completely authenticating data which can result in the security of your community being compromised. This issue can only impact your community if you have enabled OpenID logins as the OpenID is disabled when IPS ships IP.Board releases. Protecting Your IP.Board There are two methods to protect your community. Method 1: Disable OpenID The easiest fix is to simply disable OpenID logins. These login systems are disabled by default in IP.Board so unless you have specifically turned on OpenID you are already protected. This screen shot shows you what to look for in your AdminCP: [*]Click "Log In Management" in the AdminCP [*]Look for OpenID in the list. If there is already a red "X" then OpenID is disabled and your community is safe from this issue. [*]If you see a green check: disable OpenID by clicking the drop-down menu to the right, edit details, and set "Log In Enabled" to "No" If OpenID is disabled and you do not use/need this login method you do not need to do anything further. Method 2: Upload Source File If OpenID is in use in your community and you need to keep it enabled simply upload the attached file to your forums directory.
